We can develop learning geometry with Microsoft Word at school. SmartArt Graphic is one of toolbars that we can use to create different kinds of geometry two or three dimension. Not only that, we can also do animation on the wake and add the text as explanation of the images.
By utilizing the facilities on Ms.Word, we can develop instructional media geometry at junior high school. This media is implication of Competence Standard and Basic Competence. In here there are some competences standard the students of Junior High School geometry capabilities can be mentioned as follows:
1. Memahami hubungan garis dengan garis, garis dengan sudut, sudut dengan sudut, serta Understanding the relationship line to line, line with an angle, corner angle, and menentukan ukurannyadetermine its size
2. 2. Memahami konsep segi empat dan segitiga serta menentukan ukurannya Understand the concept of a rectangle and a triangle and determine its size
3. 3. Menggunakan Teorema Pythagoras dalam pemecahan masalah Using the Pythagorean Theorem in problem solving
4. 4. Menentukan unsur, bagian lingkaran serta ukurannya Determining element, the circle and its size
5. 5. Memahami sifat-sifat kubus, balok, prisma, limas, dan bagian-bagiannya, serta menentukan Understanding the properties of the cube, beam, prism, pyramid, and their parts, and determine ukurannya measure
6. 6. Memahami kesebangunan bangun datar dan penggunaannya dalam pemecahan masalah Understanding congruent for geometry two dimension and its use in problem solving
7. 7. Memahami sifat-sifat tabung, kerucut dan bola, serta menentukan ukurannya Understanding the properties of tubes, cones and spheres, and determine its size
We can use Auto Shape from Microsoft Drawing Tools to create polygon and tangram, triangle and quadrilateral, polyhedral etc. if we want to find the volume of polyhedral, we can use auto shape and choose ‘3-D’ to create polyhedral that you want and you can use ‘text boxes’ to add some text to give more information of the image. Not only that, you can do transformation geometry without changing the size or create new image. Reflection of image on an axis can be done by using ‘Rotate’ or ‘Flip’. And you can Dilation of an object is enlarge. Dilatasi dapat dilakukan dengan Dilatation can be performed by kombinasi menekan tombol “Shift” sambil melakukan “Dragged” pada salah satu ujung bangun.combination of pressing the "Shift" while performing "dragged" to one end up.
Teachers can use Microsoft Word Software easily because its can be find or available on all computer new generation.
a. The use of Microsoft Word 2007 relatif easily done by the teacher because This software is contained in almost every new computer generation.
b. The use of Microsoft Word 2007 will add to the motivation and pleasure in studying geometry.
c. Students can use Microsoft Word 2007 to study the geometry of both independently or through collaboration.
d. By using Microsoft Word 2007, students can conduct investigations or investigation into concepts of geometry.
e. By using Microsoft Word 2007, students can perform activities problem solving or solving mathematical problems.
f. By using Microsoft Word 2007, students can communicate the results- results to both the teacher and to other friends
